Singer and entrepreneur, Jessica Simpson has officially called it quits with her husband, Eric Johnson. The two tied the knot in 2014 and share three children. This is Jessica’s second marriage as she was previously wed to Nick Lachey. She went on to have a few dalliances, most notably with John Mayer. Then, she found Eric and it all clicked. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Maxwell followed by a son, Ace. Their third child, daughter Birdie was born in 2019. Unfortunately, Jessica’s business continued to boom and she has been a force to be reckoned with.
Some say that her daughter, Maxwell’s close friendship with Kim Kardashian’s daughter, North West has been a factor in the split. It is the Kardashian effect as Kim has proven that you can be a single parent and a boss. Jessica may have seen this and missed that independent lifestyle. Completely understandable and fair. Or, she and Eric simply grew apart as the years went on. Jessica’s brand continues to boom and expand plus she has been working on new music. Rumors of a split have been circulating for some time but they have denied it.
According to People, Jessica Simpson has confirmed that she and Eric are no longer living together:
“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
Hopefully, they find happiness in their next chapter while remaining mindful of their kids. It is always sad when anyone’s marriage falls apart. Wishing them all the best.
